SAVE Action PAC’s mission is to promote, protect and defend equality for people in South Florida who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender. On Tuesday, October 1st, SAVE will celebrate the month with a special reception at the Scott Galvin Community Center in North Miami from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The reception is open to the community, though Save Action PAC asks you to RSVP to help them better plan for the event.

The Black Vote Action Inc. has been in existence since 2020. The organization believes in connecting with Black voters on the issues that concern the Black community most, by meeting with Black voters at their doors, in their neighborhoods, online, and by mail. The Black Vote Action is tasked with making sure the voices of Black voters do not go unheard. The Black Vote Action educates and mobilizes Black voters to use their power to elect candidates responsive to the needs of the Black community, and to hold their elected representatives accountable to the Black community’s needs.

Anna Pierre has been the recipient of several awards and honors from some prestigious institutions and organizations for her outstanding community work, on behalf of individuals with no access to health care. Notably, she received many proclamations from city mayors and county commissioners. In the Haitian community, she earned Outstanding Female Artist of the year in 1996. Haiti Focus named her an Outstanding Community Leader in 2001. She was nominated to The Florida Women Hall of Fame (part of top 20). She earned a model of Resilience of Haitian Women Award (2010). Kionne L. McGhee is an American success story, a book author, and motivational speaker from Florida who has served as a Democratic Commissioner on the Miami-Dade County Commission since 2020. Previously, he served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2012 to 2020, representing south-central Miami-Dade County stretching from Richmond Heights to Florida City. Melba Pearson is a civil rights and criminal law attorney who works in the Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy. She serves as the Director of Prosecution Projects, overseeing technical assistance, training, and community engagement efforts around the field of prosecution. Her primary assignment is as co-manager of the MacArthur Foundation-funded Prosecutorial Performance Indicators' project, which aims to improve prosecutorial offices' efficiency, effectiveness and fairness through data, research, technical assistance, and communications support. Before joining FIU, Melba served as the Deputy Director for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Florida for three years. Melba served as a past President of the National Black Prosecutors Association (NBPA), and has served in many leadership roles. She is a frequent guest lecturer across the country, and has been featured in The New York Times, The Baltimore Sun, Essence Magazine, The Huffington Post, The Miami Herald, and Ebony Magazine.
Carla Cody is a legendary attorney and leader in the Broward community. She is seasoned litigator as well as leader, as she has handled very challenging roles and responsibilities. She has received numerous honors and awards for her work, and is recognized as a trailblazer. She served for many years as a Special Magistrate for the City of Miramar. She also spent many years acting as a Magistrate in the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit of Florida. Her reputation speaks for itself - and communications is but one of her many specialties, as she served as General Counsel for Sonshine Communications and Black PR Wire.
Alex Arreaza came to the United States in 1968 with his mother, grandmother and brother to start new life. Alex’s family lived in New Jersey, California, and eventually settled in Florida.
Alex has extensive experience in handling criminal and civil cases in jurisdictions throughout the entire State of Florida. Alex has served as a mediator, negotiated settlements and has years of trial experience. Alex Arreaza has nearly 3 decades of legal experience as a litigator, trial lawyer, small business owner and sole practitioner. He has handled over 10,000 cases since becoming a Member of the Florida Bar in 1994. He is a force to be reckoned with in Broward County and other parts of Florida, as he has gained the trust of many communities - and is a recognized leader. Alex has volunteered with groups such as the Boys & Girls Club and Aspira Youth Group.
David W. Singer, one of Florida’s best known personal injury attorneys, has been practicing law in Florida for over a quarter of a century. A life-long concern, for people in need of help, has kept David in a legal career dedicated to representing victims of accidents in Broward, Miami-Dade County and across Florida and the U.S. David W. David has been on the Board of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for years and he has been a Vice President and Treasurer of the organization. The Chamber recognized David as Small Business Person of the Year and as the winner of their Annual Community Service Award. Several years ago, Hollywood Mayor, Mara Giulanti, appointed David to the Hollywood City Attorney Search Committee.
