As a candidate for judge, I want to share my legal writings as positive proof of the research and writing that I have contributed to legal academia.
A good judge must write well, and I am a long-time accomplished legal writer.
The eight articles written by Woody Clermont for legal journals across the country, appear below. These articles have been cited by other legal journal authors in their articles.*
Two of the articles have been cited as Additional Resources in the Florida Statutes Annotated and the Code of Federal Regulations as well. In the Code of Federal Regulations, my Medicare article is referenced more than 40 times. See as examples: 42 C.F.R. § 405.948, 42 C.F.R. § 422.596, 42 C.F.R. § 405.1120, 42 C.F.R. § 422.594, 42 C.F.R. § 405.958, 42 C.F.R. § 405.1100, 42 C.F.R. § 422.602, other articles at 42 C.F.R., and so on.
See the Editor's Notes for West's Florida Statutes Annotated § 627.783 as my article "The advent of paper IMEs in no-fault claims: Will they be a solution or a problem" is listed there. And actually that same article also made the Editor's Notes for two other statutes: West's F. S. A. § 627.737 and West's F. S. A. § 627.736.
My appellate article is referenced in Florida's Pleading and Practice Forms, 1A Fla. Pl. & Pr. Forms § 7:10.
On some issues, the writings may be more towards a Keynesian economics school of thought. To this end, he often agrees socially with the cultural liberalism point of view, as well the philosophies of a modern-day Paul Krugman.
